Ben Jeffery is an Associate on the U.S. Rates Strategy Team at BMO Capital Markets. He focuses on fixed income investment strategy, specifically on interest rates and primary market dynamics in U.S. Treasuries. Ben provides daily commentary on a variety of monetary policy and macroeconomic trends and their impact on financial markets.

Ben has earned the number three ranking behind BMO’s own Ian Lyngen and Jon Hill in the U.S. Rates Strategy and Technical Analysis categories of the Institutional Investor’s Global Fixed Income Team survey, as well as the runner-up position in Fixed Income and Short Duration Strategy. He is also the Co-Host of the award winning podcast, Macro Horizons, delivering weekly and monthly updates on the Fixed Income markets. Before joining the strategy team, Ben completed BMO’s rotational analyst program where spent time in equity-linked products trading as well as equity research sales and global prime finance. Previous to that, Ben was a research intern at Whale Rock Capital Management where he worked in Beijing and Shanghai analyzing trends in the Technology, Media and Telecom sectors in China.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College where he studied World Politics, Mathematics, and Chinese.
